Reality of Jobs and Employment in Azerbaijan

I will definitely add this for those who are asking about jobs or employment: working here is very difficult. You cannot work here. If anyone tells you anything about jobs here, my advice is that you should not believe them.

The reason for all these difficulties is that local people do not know English at all, or very few people know it. In offices, in business, and everywhere, you cannot work without proper communication. Someone may think that they can work here as a software engineer or programmer, but even their software keyboards are in the local language.

So practically, do not think about jobs here. If someone tells you that they will get you a job and asks for money, say no. Local people do the work themselves. I have not seen outsiders working anywhere, not even on railways. I asked people, and they said working here is very difficult.

I am telling you this completely free and honestly: you can work here only by opening your own restaurant or your own shop. Do not think about jobs at all.

Safety and Legal System for Investment in Azerbaijan

Now let us talk about investment and its position. You can invest here, and investment here is extremely safe. Whatever work you do will be in writing with proper documentation.

There is an office here similar to a service center, called Asan Khidmat. All matters like identity cards, passports, business registrations, and memberships are handled there. If you face any problem, you can correct or change the matter through proper legal channels.

There is no culture here where someone legally cheats you and disappears.

Investment Opportunities in Azerbaijan: Vehicles

You can invest by buying cars because this is a tourist place. Hotels and tour companies need good vehicles.

I personally asked two people, and they told me that with an investment of 20–25 lakh, if you put a car into service, you can earn 50–55–60 thousand rupees per month. The company usually takes 30 percent, and 70 percent remains yours.

Investment Opportunities in Azerbaijan: Property and Rental Income

If you want long-term maintenance and management, you will need to purchase property here. The total instant investment is around 65,000 dollars.

If you invest in a flat and give it on rent through a management company, you can earn around 4,000 to 4,500 manat as rent. If you invest 65,000 dollars and receive this rental income, and also obtain residency, then this can be a good option for those who need it.

For business, you must first come here on a visit visa. A tourist visa is similar to a normal visit visa. If you only waste time and go back, that is your choice.

On a business visa, you must first register a company. Through agents and consultancy companies, you start your business with proper licensing. Once your papers are submitted and approved, you receive residency.

All legal steps are completed properly, including documentation that may seem difficult or uncomfortable. Everything is done in sequence and transparently, with no deception.

Types of Businesses with Potential in Azerbaijan

People here consume a lot of rice, and rice-related products have strong demand. Many garments come from Turkey and India. Recently, in a high-end shopping mall, we saw a good-quality suit labeled “Made in Bangladesh.”

This shows that traders from Pakistan should enter this market. Pakistani traders can open food businesses such as pizza companies. Meat-related businesses also have demand, with workers from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan involved.

Why Business Opportunities Exist in Azerbaijan

A question naturally arises: why work here instead of going to other countries like Russia? The answer is that those countries have not opened their systems in this way.

Here, opportunities exist. Wherever opportunities exist, profit is made, and work is done. You take advantage of the place where opportunities are available.

If you are confused, this should clear it: do not think about jobs at all and do not believe anyone who promises jobs. Jobs are not available here and cannot be done easily.

If you come with the intention of deciding, you may come on a tourist visa. But remember, you cannot open a company on a tourist visa. You must go back and return on a business visa.
