Most work permits are basically given to cooks and so on. If you go to Indian and Pakistani restaurants, there is a possibility for that, but even that is not straightforward.

In some countries, they give you the work permit in advance, but the rule in Azerbaijan is that you will go on either a work or business visa, and then you have to apply for the documents for the work permit there. If it gets approved, well and good; if it does not get approved, then you will have to go back.

Therefore, this is very complete. Besides that, the bolt and other services, or those in the construction field, basically do not give work permits because their own local people also work there. The rule is that if you do not give work permits to local people, then you will not get it either.

So, if someone is telling you about a work permit in Azerbaijan, do a lot of research and try to get all their information, like the company, address, etc. But basically, they do not issue any work permits. Superstores say that a work permit exists, but that is also false. They also do not issue it in construction.

Yes, you can say that out of 100 people, only two people get it, and that too only if you are set up as a cook in your restaurant. There, immigration officers themselves come, evaluate your setup to see if “yes, the setup is there or not.” It is a very complicated and lengthy process.

Therefore, those who go for work permits in Azerbaijan should do their own research. Do not trust any single person completely because some people give wrong information and trap others there in other visa-related issues.

My request to you is this: work visas in Azerbaijan mostly do not exist. Do complete research first, then decide.
