Study in Azerbaijan for 2025-2026 for international students
Hello viewers, I hope you all are doing well. I am here with you with another new study abroad destination, which is Azerbaijan.
Many people visit Azerbaijan for travel, but today our specific blog is about the study visa. If students from Pakistan want to go to Azerbaijan on a study visa, then what is the overall process?

Looking at it, Azerbaijan is now becoming a top choice for international students because its visa approval ratio is up to 95%. Students get their visas easily as long as you don’t attach any wrong documents or don’t give your interview properly. Until then, your visa rejection doesn’t happen, and you get Azerbaijan’s visa easily. Azerbaijan is very well known for its rich history and high standard of education. You get a lot of opportunities here, which can happen during your studies or even after your studies. If you go to Azerbaijan on a study visa, you can easily get your visa granted.
Regarding a work permit, you can work there and earn well. Also, Azerbaijan can be very beneficial for students because you don’t need a bank statement. If you show your tuition fee as a bank statement, that’s enough. Whether your tuition fee is $1,000 or $22,000, you can show that as a bank statement and apply. For girls applying from Pakistan, they might wonder if it’s safe, and Azerbaijan is considered one of the safest countries for women.
There are many reasons to choose Azerbaijan, which we will discuss in this video. We will see which top-ranking universities are available, their requirements, eligibility criteria, and also which popular programs you can target. For students who cannot afford the fees, we will see how they can study in Azerbaijan for free. Additionally, if you work there, what is your monthly salary?
First, let’s see why you should choose Azerbaijan. Nowadays, the major concern for Pakistani students is affordability. Students applying abroad usually look at their budget and choose a country accordingly. Considering affordability, European countries are unmatched. Many students want to go to the USA or UK for studies, but tuition fees there are very high, which they cannot afford. That’s why they move towards Europe. In European countries, the quality of education is very good, scholarships and opportunities are abundant, and some countries allow you to pay tuition fees in easy installments.
Now, if we talk about Azerbaijan, tuition fees there are very low. Depending on your program, fees start from 0, and it varies with the program you select. $1,000 is very affordable and easily coverable. Some universities with low tuition fees include Western Caspian University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan State Agriculture University, and Azerbaijan Medical University. These universities offer Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. Azerbaijan Medical University also offers medical programs.

Top universities include Baku State University, Khazar University, and Nakhchivan State University, which rank high. Tuition fees here might be slightly higher. Most of these universities offer English-taught programs in fields like Business, Arts, and Engineering, which are very popular and provide a variety of courses.
Regarding requirements and eligibility, you are eligible to apply to Azerbaijani universities if your minimum percentage is 50–60%. Requirements are not very tough. No entry test is required. Even if you haven’t studied Arts, you can get admission easily. Some universities may require Arts, but the required bands are minimal.
The major intake in Azerbaijan universities is in August–September, when most universities open applications. Some private universities have different intakes, but the main intake is in August–September. Required documents include educational documents and transcripts attested by ACC, IBCC, and MoFA, a valid passport, your resume, photographs, two recommendation letters from your previous institute, and a motivation letter explaining why you chose Azerbaijan and why you want to study there. If IELTS is required, you must attach the certificate.
Students in Azerbaijan are allowed to work 30 hours per week, but some universities only allow students to focus on studies and do not provide part-time work. Most universities, however, do allow part-time work. As I mentioned earlier, you do not need to show a separate bank statement; your tuition fee can be shown as proof.
Regarding job opportunities, if you work during your studies, it is beneficial because, after completing your degree, you gain skills and experience, which helps you get a good job. Even if you don’t work during studies, it’s fine because you will have a degree, and your initial pay may be low, but compared to Pakistan, it is better. In Azerbaijan, even an unskilled person can earn between 500 to 700 AZN.
Finally, if you want to study for free in Azerbaijan, the government offers scholarships to international students, which are fully funded. Tuition fees are fully covered, 800 AZN per month is provided for expenses, free accommodation is given, an international flight ticket annually, free medical insurance, and visa/application costs are waived or reimbursed if already paid. Scholarships are mainly for Master’s or PhD programs, not for Bachelor’s. For Master’s, the age limit is 30, and for PhD, it’s 40. Requirements for scholarships are not very strict, so you should apply.
Western Caspian University and other universities also offer scholarships to international students. You can check your selected university’s portal for scholarships. Most students prefer to target scholarships because if your grades or luck are good, you can get a chance to study for free.
